Description
The coach discussed various drills and techniques for improving rebounding skills in basketball. The main focus was on teaching players the three key principles:
1. Find and identify your player
2. Make contact and box out the opponent
3. Aggressively go for and secure the rebound.
The drills covered included rebounding technique, slide rebounding, battle boards, rotation rebounds, “golden egg”, roadrunner, weak side rebounding, and “rack up” rebounding.
The coach emphasized the importance of developing mental toughness and desire in addition to the physical skills. He encouraged coaches to use these drills to address specific weaknesses in their teams’ rebounding.
Overall, the session provided a comprehensive overview of effective ways to teach and practice rebounding fundamentals at all levels of basketball.
