Description
The coach is focusing on developing players’ decision-making and basketball IQ through various drills and small-sided games.
The main goals are to encourage creativity, reading the defense, and making good decisions rather than just executing skills.
The drills progress from simple one-on-one and two-on-two scenarios to more complex three-on-three and four-on-four games that require players to read the defense, communicate, and make quick decisions.
The emphasis is on teaching players to be active without the ball, move off screens, and make the right pass or cut based on the defense. Overall, the coach is trying to shift the players’ mindset from just executing skills to truly playing the game and reading the defense.
